PEPC to restrict access to court on judgement day

The Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) has said that access to court premises on Wednesday, September 6, would be strictly on accreditation.

Chief Registrar, Umar Bangari, made this known in a press release on Monday as the court plans to deliver judgment on the petitions filed by Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The press release said, “Access to the court premises will be strictly on accreditation. Only accredited individuals, including counsel and representatives of political parties will be granted access into the courtroom.”

The statement encouraged interested parties to watch proceedings from their TV sets.

Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Obi of the Labour Party (LP) both want the PEPC to annul Tinubu’s election over several allegations of illegality, the critical ones including election rigging, identity theft, age falsification, certificate forgery, and perjury.

The defeated party or parties is/are expected to appeal to the Supreme Court which will have the final say.
