The Plateau State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 elections, Gyang Pwajok, is dead.
The Head of his media team during the electioneering, Chuwang Dung, confirmed the development to journalists in Jos, via a telephone interview.
Sources close to the late politician had told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Pwajok died late Wednesday in an Indian hospital.
Mr. Pwajok, a former senator, was the governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2015 general election.
He narrowly lost the election to Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress.
He was also the immediate past senator for Plateau northern senatorial district.
Mr. Pwajok succeeded late Senator Gyang Dantong, who died of shock while attending a mass burial of persons killed by insurgents in Barkinladi in 2012.
