PDP after announcing Kolawole as the winner of the Ekiti governorship primary has now picked Iyorchia Ayu to head the election’s appeal panel

Fresh from the announcement of Bisi Kolawole as the flag bearer of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Ekiti gubernatorial election, the party has fixed March 7, 2022, for its governorship primary poll in Osun State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has earlier fixed June 16, 2022, as the date Osun State citizens will head to the polls to pick the man to direct the affairs of the state for the next four years.
The date for the gubernatorial primary was announced yesterday by the PDP National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature, while highlighting the activities lined up for the governorship poll.

He also said all the six aspirants have been cleared for the primary election, stating that the party has approved the state Screening Committee and Appeal Panel report.
Bature said: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the PDP at its 5th meeting Wednesday, the 26th of January, 2022, after careful consideration, approved the Osun State Screening Committee and Appeal Panel reports, which cleared all the six gubernatorial aspirants.
“To this effect, all cleared aspirants are to note the following important activities; Osun State Stakeholders meeting with the NWC in Abuja: Tuesday, February 01, 2022″ among others.
In the same vein, Bature announced that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has constituted the Gubernatorial Appeal Panel to consider appeals arising from the conduct of the governorship primary election held in Ekiti State on Tuesday.
The PDP National Organizing Secretary, who announced this on Thursday, said the 25-member Appeal Panel will sit today, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
He went on to say the Appeal Panel will be chaired by the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu and listed other members as Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, Arch. Sen. Tonji Koshoedo, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN, Alhaji Ahmed Yayari Mohammed, Daniel Ambrose Woyengikuro, Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, Muhammed Kadade Suleiman, and Okechukwu Obiechina Daniel.
Also naming the party’s National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, as Secretary of the panel, he named other members of the committee as, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo, Chief Ali Obasi Odefa, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, Mr. Emmanuel Nicovoa Bovoa, Rt. Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi, Alhaja Mutitat Ladoja, Mrs. Fidelia A. Njeze, Sen. Liyel Imoke, Mrs. Laurencia Malam, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri and Prof. Jerry Gana.
