The lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, Ondo State Chapter has taken another dimension as five Chieftains of the party have been suspended indefinitely.

They were given the boot for alleged anti-party activities and gross misconduct.

In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei stated that pursuant to Section 58(1)(a)(b)(f)and (h)of the Peoples Democratic Party Constitution (2017 as Amended) the five members were suspended indefinitely from the party for anti-party activities and gross misconduct.

The affected Chieftains are Chief Oyedele Ibini, Hon. Lad Ojomo, Mr.Ayo Fadaka, Hon. Rasheed Elegbeleye, and Hon. Ebenezer Alabi.

TheNiche reliably gathered that four out of the affected members were at one time served as members of the Executive in the state.

Ibini is a former State Secretary, Fadaka, a former Director of Publicity, Alabi, former State Chairman while Elegbeleye is one of two PDP members currently in the House of Assembly and House Minority Leader.

The statement further read: “By this decision, they are expected to stop parading themselves as  members of the party. All organs of the  party are to take note in this regard.

“They stand suspended until the outcome of the report of the State Disciplinary Committee”, it added.

In another development, Peretei noted that the State Working Committee of the party has dissolved the State Elders Committee.

He stated that in accordance with the provisions of our constitution (2017 as Amended), another State Elders Committee will be constituted in due course.

“We also want to put it on record that the State Executive Committee of the PDP in Ondo State did not send any delegation to anywhere to represent the Party. Whoever lays claim to such is an impostor and does not represent the opinions of our teaming supporters in the State,” he added.
