A former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, has been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for working against the party among other allegations.

Aliyu was was suspended after the party’s stakeholders in Chachanga local government area, which is his local government, called an emergency meeting attended by eight out of the 11 ward chairmen  in the local government.

Among the sins of Aliyu, according to the PDP are; working against the party and supporting the APC in the 2015 election, not attending meetings and working to disintegrate the party.

In his reaction, Aliyu speaking through one of his media aides, Bala Bitrus, said the suspension is laughable, arguing that the state PDP does not have an executive in place to approve such suspension.
