Former Vire President Atiku Abubarkar Support Group in Niger State, Atiku Global Mass Movement (AGMM), has criticized the pulling down of the Atiku/Obi/Nasko billboards by suspected agents of the Governor Abubarkar Sani Bello-led All ProgressiveS Congress (APC).

Niger State Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Dorothy Nuhu Aken’ova, described the pulling down of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates’ billboards in parts of the state as the height of political intolerance by the APC-led administration in the state.

Reacting to the destruction of billboards welcoming the former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubarkar and his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi, to Minna, Dorothy called for political tolerance among all parties ahead of next month’s general election.

Politics, according to her, should not be a do-or-die affairs, stressing, “We were told that some APC members went and uprooted the billboards we erected along the Airport road to welcome former Vice President Atiku Abubarkar and Mr. Peter Obi”.

Niger State, she said should not be turned into theatre of war by agents of the state government who go about in the dead hours of the night to destroy billboards, pointing out that “Niger state belongs to all of us and the government should respect our rights to association”.
