members of the party and media mogul, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, who clocked 67 years today.
The party described Chief Dokpesi as a patriotic Nigerian, an excellent administrator, ingenuous entrepreneur, a global statesman and quintessential democrat, who has made innumerable sacrificial contributions towards the stability, progress and development of Nigeria.
A statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, read in part:
“Chief Dokpesi stands out as one of the most committed members of the PDP who has continued to stand for our party and its ideals, in all ramifications, particularly during its trying times.
“An ingenuous Nigerian, Chief Dokpesi revolutionized the media industry with his establishment of DAAR Communication Ltd, with leading television and radio stations, African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower 100.5 FM, which have not only contributed in deepening citizens participation in various critical fields but also extensively projected the potentials of our nation to the outside world.
“Chief Dokpesi’s contributions to national development stands him out as one of the few Nigerians that have shown that one can attain to the peak and still remain humble and that the real substance of statesmanship is in employing the gains of personal attainments for the advantage of others rather than self.
“The PDP therefore joins family members, friends and associates in celebrating this great Nigerian and pray that God in His infinite mercies, continue to bless him with good health and many more fruitful years in the service of our great nation.”
