PDP congratulates Ali at 85

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated its former National Chairman and ex-Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmadu Ali (rtd), as he marks his 85th birthday.

The party, via a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, described Ali as a courageous leader, a dazzling military officer, quintessential administrator, exceptionally brilliant medical doctor and a very dutiful nationalist, who has been making sacrifices for the unity, stability, development and progress of Nigeria.

The PDP also stated that it was proud of the contributions of Ali towards the return of democracy in Nigeria, when he and other patriots joined forces to envision and birth of the PDP, for the good of all Nigerians.

It further stated: “As a party administrator, member of the federal executive council and now elder statesman, Dr. Ahmadu Ali had continued to put the collective interest of our nation above every personal, sectional or parochial interests and shows that essence of statesmanship lies in serving others than self.

 “The PDP congratulates this democratic icon as he turns a milestone age of 85 and prays God to grant him many more years in good health so that our nation and party, the PDP, will continue to draw from his wealth of experience, goodwill and wise counsel.”

Ali is a member of Board of Trustees (BoT), PDP; elder statesman and one of the founding fathers of the party.
