PDP coming back in Kwara in 2023, says Saraki

Former Senate president and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Bukola Saraki, has expressed hope of the party returning to the government in Kwara stat by 2023.

Saraki, former governor of the state, hinged this hope on internal peace and unity which he says the party enjoys in the state at present.

The PDP was the ruling party in the state from 2003 till 2019 when it lost the election to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Saraki who is the leader of the PDP in the state said the party is more united and peaceful than any other major party in the state.

He spoke with newsmen on Tuesday at his Ajikobi ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area during the PDP local government congress and membership e-registeation exercise.

The politician who said there is, among people of the state, preference for PDP controlled government in 2023 declared that the party is prepared to come up with the government.

He stated: “Let us all go and prepare for 2023 elections. It’s all clear that PDP government is what people want. We’re committed and it’s left for us to go all out and sell message of hope to our people. The PDP is the only one party in the state that’s united and peaceful. For progress of the state, it’s the PDP. We are ready to provide leadership come

2023.”

Saraki said that the party has opened more leadership positions for women and youth group to ensure that the two categories of members are given greater sense of belonging.

The PDP chieftain who described the e-registration exercise as transparent said that the PDP has the most modern way of data base for all its members.
