One half of the P-Square music group, Paul Okoye, has bemoaned the excruciating economic hardship currently prevalent in the country.

Taking to his Instagram page, the ‘Reason With Me’ crooner complained bitterly about what he currently spends on purchasing diesel.

Paul, who is fondly called Rude Boy by his fans in the post lamented that he bought his first car for N120,000 many years ago but currently spends N3 million monthly on buying diesel.

Describing the economic situation in the country as a “total madness”, the ace singer said he can’t imagine what the poor are going through.

Speaking via his social media page, Paul Okoye wrote, “I bought my first car 120k naira years back and I was very proud of that… Now I spend 3m naira on diesel for just a month… Total madness.

“Only God knows what a common man is going through.”

His outburst on his expenses after making the rounds on social media elicited mixed actions among Nigerians. While some doubted his claims, others sympathised with him.

An IG user, bobby_brownz1wrote: “Buy car 120k keh is this playing which year be that?”

Another netizen __alex_obi said: “Many people here are doubting him Nigerian poor o some people even spend more I mean more Kai ‍♂️ I come Dey shame for some people.”

veevogee added: “The truth is the economy is really getting bad. People can barely feed. If the rich are complaining what about those who don’t have at all. This is really disturbing May God keep providing for those of us who truly wanted change.”

Another internet user, nickiegoldee said: “You go explain tire no evidence 3m on just diesel, de whine yourself.”

While egbujor_p wrote: “Nigerians will be Nigerians see them all over the comment section saying 3m monthly?? It’s a lie. So for una mind, he no get business him dey do lol a full blooded Anambra man. God my next life run Australia or one better Europe country for me abeg o.”
