Former Arsenal midfielder and legend, Paul Merson, has given his verdict on some key matches this weekend in the Premier League.

The week 15 fixtures will see a total of ten games played in three days, after the midweek games in week 14.

Chelsea and West Ham kick off the Saturday encounter at the London Stadium, before another scintillating encounter between Wolves and Liverpool.

Thereafter, Manchester United host faltering Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday and the Monday night football features Everton vs Arsenal at Goodison Park.

Paul Merson, while analyzing the weekend matches, told Sportskeeda that Arsenal were unlucky against United, and expects his former side to secure a narrow win against Everton at Goodison Park.

He said: “Arsenal were unlucky the other day, and I thought they missed too many chances against United. They need to come back and win this game – they’ve been beating the teams they should be beating this season, and I think they’ll be able to turn the screws on Everton. Everton 1-2 Arsenal.”

The 53-year-old while commenting on the Wolves vs Liverpool game, said, the Merseyside outfit will beat their host 3-0, he praised the Wolves’ performances so far but noted that their lack of goals, will be their undoing against a ruthless Liverpool.

“Wolves have been up there in the Premier League this season but they don’t score goals.

“Liverpool are unstoppable at the moment, and they will score goals. If Liverpool scores twice, can Wolves keep up with them? They have Mohamed Salah to contend with, and I think he’s currently the best player in the world. Wolves have been impressive, but I can’t look past a comfortable Liverpool victory here. Wolves 0-3 Liverpool’ he said.

Speaking on Man United hosting Crystal Palace at home, Merson said, though United are the favorites, Palace have the player to hurt them, he then predicted a 2-2 draw.

In his words: “I’m sure Ralf Rangnick will also give Sancho a fair chance. He’s seen enough of Sancho in German football and United have paid a lot of money for him, so I’m hoping it pays off.

“United fans will turn up expecting their team to win this game, but Palace do have the players to hurt them. They’re a dangerous team, and I wouldn’t be too surprised if they took something away from this Premier League game. Manchester United 2-2 Crystal Palace.”

The former midfielder also looked at the game between the league leaders Chelsea and fellow London club, West Ham, and concluded that Chelsea have not been at their best recently, he thereafter said The Blues will drop a point at the London stadium.

“Chelsea got lucky against Watford this week and haven’t been at their best this week. I’d play Romelu Lukaku in this match – West Ham’s biggest threat comes from set plays and Chelsea could use a player of Lukaku’s build. Chelsea are not playing particularly well at the moment and this game could turn out to be a draw. West Ham United 1-1 Chelsea.” he added.
