Oyo govt says the suspension of the three teachers linked to the allegation, is to ensure transparent probe
Three teachers of the Oyo State Basic School have been suspended by the State government over the allegation that they were involved in sexual harassment of blind pupils.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Rahman Abdu-Raheem, who announced their suspension in a statement on Friday, added that the Principal and the Head teacher of the Oyo State Training School for the Blind had also been transferred.

The commissioner explained that the suspension and transfer were the state government’s response to a viral video and unrest in the school recently over allegation of sexual harassment in the school.

He explained that the steps taken by the state government would equally enhance free and unbiased investigations by the four-man probe panel put in place to unravel the truth of the allegation.

The commissioner therefore emphasised that the various letters issued took immediate effect, so as to restore peace in the school.
