Oyegun withdraws from APC national chairmanship race

Chief Odigie-Oyegun, APC Chair

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has withdrawn from the chairmanship race of the party.
He informed journalists at his Abuja residence on Friday night that he will not be presenting himself again for the position.
“Even though, I had the desire to re-contest as National Chairman of the Party, I have decided that it is ultimately in the best interest of the Party for me to withdraw from the race,” Oyegun said.
There has been pressure from the powers that be to get Oyegun stand down for President Muhammadu Buhari’s preferred candidate, Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo State who recently declared his intention to run.
