Oyebanji sends commissioner, SA list to Ekiti Assembly for approval

Oyebanji in the list nominated two ex-deputy speakers and the immediate former head of service as commissioners

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, yesterday, June 27, forwarded a list of commissioners and special adviser nominees to the state House of Assembly for ratification.

The list sent by the governor to the state legislative arm for screening and confirmation had 21 commissioner-nominees and 10 Special Advisers (SA)-nominees.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye made this known while reading the governor’s letter dated Monday, June 26 at the plenary on Tuesday.

Aribasoye listed names of the the commissioner-nominees as Taiwo Olatunbosun (former Deputy Speaker), Chief Folorunso Olabode, Mr Adesola Adebayo, Dr Kofoworola Aderiye and Prof. Ojo Bakare – all former commissioners

On the list were also another former Deputy Speaker, Karounwo Oladapo; a former Head of Service, Mrs Peju Babafemi; an ex-local government chairman, Mrs Tosin Aluko; and serving Special Advisers – Prof Bolaji Aluko, Mr Seun Fakuade, Mr Ebenezer Boluwade and Mrs Tayo Adeola.

Others were Ojo Atibioke, Mr Adebayo Adesola, Dr Kareem Akande, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo, Prof. Patrick Tedela, Mr Kehinde Ajobiewe, Mr Olufemi Awe, Mr Kayode Fasae and Dolamu Adeniyi.

The Speaker while speaking also said Governor Oyebanji, is requesting the confirmation of the list in accordance with the provisions of Sections 192 and 196 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, to expand the executive council to assist in service delivery.

Aribasoye on behalf of his colleagues, while giving the assurances of performing their legislative assignment diligently, however, committed the list to the House Committee on Rules and Business, headed by the Majority Leader, Tolu Ige.
