Liverpool Legend, Michael Owen, has said he believes English Premier League (EPL) leaders, Arsenal, will give the champions, Manchester City, a good fight for the league title this season.
Manchester City have won four of the last five EPL trophies and only Liverpool have challenged the Citizen’s nomination of the league in recent times.
However, Owen believes Mikel Arteta’s side, Arsenal have shown that they have all it takes to go all the way to clinch the title in May or at least challenge the champions.
Arsenal are currently sitting top of the Premier League table, leading second-placed Manchester City with 5 points after 17 matches.
The Gunners dropped their first point at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday when they played out a 0-0 stalemate with Newcastle United

The Gunners have maintained the high standard they set this season even without Gabriel Jesus, who they lost to injury at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Owen, while speaking on Premier League Productions after watching Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, said even though City have cut Arsenal’s lead to five points, the team is still in the hunt for the EPL title.
He said: “They [Arsenal] are very very good. This is not a flash in the pan. It’s a proper team. Great on the eye, powerful, quick, got goalscorers and some young new players.
“I just feel something is brewing at the Emirates. The fans are right behind them and the whole club just feel there is a trajectory at the moment and I don’t think it’s a flash in the pan. They’re here to stay.”
