Osun Speaker, aides admitted in hospital after accident

Speaking with the press on the incident, the Speaker’s spokesman, Kunle Alabi, said Owoeye was not injured but was taken to the hospital with those who sustained injuries for treatment.

Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, and some of his aides have been admitted in an undisclosed hospital after sustaining injuries in a road accident along Osogbo/Ilesa Expressway.

It was gathered that a vehicle heading towards Ilesa from Osogbo rammed into Owoeye’s convoy on Thursday and damaged some of the vehicles.

Speaking with the press on the incident, the Speaker’s spokesman, Kunle Alabi, said Owoeye was not injured but was taken to the hospital with those who sustained injuries for treatment.

Alabi said, “It is true that a vehicle heading to Ilesa collided with the speaker’s convoy leading to an accident, where four vehicles in the convoy were damaged.

“Many aides, including security operatives on the convoy sustained various degrees of injury.

“The Speaker is not injured but he is also at the hospital now, along with others for precautionary measures.”
