A human rights activist and Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sualiman has strongly condemned Osun State governor, Mr. Rauf Adesoji Adesola over his plan to reduce the monthly wages and salaries of state workforce,
noting that the move has exposed the level of insensitivity of the present administration on the workers’ plight in the State.
Comrade Sulaiman,while reacting to the media report on the State government proposed plan to reduce the State workers’ salaries,through a signed statement, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the State capital, faulted the State government over the plan
to cut the workers’ salaries by 50 percent, urging Aregbesola to rescind its decision on the proposed anti-workers policy in order to avoid wrath of the people.
CHRSJ boss who doubles as Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEO) ,maintained that the Governor Aregbesola was planning to increase the pains and existing untold hardship being faced by the by workers and by extension,the good people of the State.
Sulaiman who declared that the groups under the Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEO) had concluded arrangement to resist any anti-peoples’ policies of the present administration in the State, stressing that Aregbesola has become a disaster to the people of the State since his second coming in November 2014.
His words: “We strongly condemn the proposed salary cut of workers in Osun State by Governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and we are ready to resist it on behalf of the good people of the State. Since November 2014, Aregbesola’s government has become a disaster, cancer and ebola virus to the State which only God can stamp it out of the shore of the State. We also want to use this opportunity to inform the good people of the State that are concerned with the progress and development of the State not to allow the anti-workers plan of Aregbesola and his
allies to see the light of the day for the interest of peace,progress and tranquility of the State”.
He therefore described the proposed State government plan to reduce the workers’ salaries as anti-masses and undemocratic which the well meaning people of the State should not be allowed to stand, because it would tantamount to adding salt to the already injury.
