Victor Osimhen was one of the goal scorers in Napoli 3-0 win over Legia Warsaw
The Serie A leaders, Napoli, waited till the second half before dispatching the Polish side, Legia Warsaw 3-0 in a Europa League game played yesterday.
This is their first European win of the season after losing one and drawing another in their two previous games.
Lorenzo Insigne opened the scoring for the home side in the 76th minute after converting an assist from Matto Politano, to make it 1-0 to Napoli.
The scorer, Insigne turned a provider when he gave Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen a pass he scored in the 80th minute to take his goal tally to nine for the campaign.
Italy midfielder Matteo Politano, who provided the assist for the first goal, then rubbed salt into the Polish wounds with a third in added time to end the game 3-0 in favor of the host.
Legia Warsaw remains top of the group despite losing to Napoli who are second but on the same point with Leicester City in third, who played a 7 goal thriller against Spartak Moscow yesterday.
Meanwhile, Lyon won 4-3 at Broendby IF to pull away from the rest of the group in Group A, while Nigerian defender Leon Balogun scored the first goal in Rangers 2-0 win at home against Sparta Prague.
Monaco remained top of Group B after beating PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at home; Real Sociedad also won 1-0 away to Sturm Graz in the same group.
In group D, Fenerbahce were denied a first win of the campaign as Pieter Gerkens scored with half an hour left to claim a 2-2 draw for Antwerp. Entrench Frankfurt remained at the top of the group after beating Olympiacos 3-1.
Galatasaray lead group E with 7points after beating Lokomotiv Moscow in front of their fans, while Italian club Lazio drew at home against Marseille.
FK Crvena Zvezda still lead Group F after a draw against FC Midtjylland who played at home. Ludogorets also lost 0-1 at home against Portuguese side SC Braga.
Bayer Leverkusen remain top on goal difference in Group G, despite drawing at home against Real Betis, who are also on 7points.
West Ham are comfortably in the lead in Group H after beating Nigeria’s Paul Onachu Genk 3-0, while Rapid Wien won Dinamo Zagreb to go level on points with Zagreb.
