Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, has won the women’s Spanish Primera Division golden boot, after ending the season as the joint top scorer in the league.
The 27-year-old striker with the achievement became the first African woman to win the highest goalscorer award in the league since it was introduced in 2011.
Oshoala achieved the enviable feat despite not playing for three months of the season because of recurring injuries.

The Nigerian netted 20 goals in 19 league appearances for Barcelona Femeni and she is expected to share the award with Geyse Ferreira of Madrid CFF, who also had 20 goals in 27 appearances.
The award was confirmed on Sunday after the Barcelona female team finished the season with a perfect tally of 30 wins — with no loss or draw, after defeating Atletico Madrid 2-1 at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
She replaced Jenifer Hermoso in the 63rd minute of the match, but was unable to add to the 19 goals she has scored this season
Oshoala previously played for English clubs Arsenal and Liverpool, Chinese club Dailan, and Nigerian clubs Rivers Angels and FC Robo before joining Barcelona in 2019.
