Oshoala scored 21 goals in 28 appearances in Primera Division Women last season

Barcelona and Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, has been nominated for the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year.
The 28-year-old finished in 16th place in 2022 when her club teammate, Alexia Putellas, won the award.
Last season, however, Oshoala played a pivotal role in Barcelona’s Spanish Iberdola and UEFA Women’s Champions League success.
She scored a total of 21 goals in 28 appearances for the club in the Primera Division Women, netting 11 of the 21 goals at home while scoring 10 goals at away games.

The Nigerian international also played 7 games for Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and found the back of the net 5 times.
The forward, who was the first Nigerian and African to score in a Champions League Final, is the only African female player, who made the shortlist.
Oshoala has won the CAF Women’s Player of the Year Award for a record five times.
In March 2022, she signed a two-year contract extension that would keep her at Barcelona until 30 June 2024.
