Indications are rife that technology has played a credible role in Ondo governorship elections with the introduction of Zipad by INEC in Edo and Ondo polls.
Analysts monitoring Ondo election have extolled INEC for introducing the Zipad technology that had reduced incidents of analogue manipulations in elections in the two states so far.
One of them Achike Chude, an election observer and political analyst said on a TV programme believe that with the Zipad INEC introduced first in Nasarawa, Edo and now in Ondo elections would be more credible and reliable.
He maintained that the Zipad has cut-short the process of changing of results midway to the INEC collation centres.
The human rights activist noted that with technology in Nigeria”s electorial system, election rigging will be a thing of the past and voters would have confidence in INEC and the electoral system.
Ude also averred that technology can always help the system when politicians and INEC collaborate to embrace the technology for the good of Nigeria’s electoral advancement.
“We could see the advantage of technology in elections in developed countries like India, Europe and others, therefore Nigeria should put into effect relevant provisions that can put the country ahead in the conduct of a Credible, free and fair elections.”
