Ondo govt in talks with labour over N30,000 minimum wage

The Ondo state government and Nigeria Labour Congress have commenced negotiation over the implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage.

The meeting was held for several hours as both sides could not reached a concrete agreement on the issues raised at the meeting.

TheNiche gathered that negotiation continues on Monday, December 9 on the issues raised at the meeting

One of our sources said “there was no agreement yet as the meeting has been adjourned till next week”

Also, one of the labour leaders at the meeting said, “I am pleased to inform you that the minimum wage negotiation between Labour Leaders and State government has commenced and hopefully, agreement will be reached very soon.

“The negotiation was chaired by Permanent Secretary of Establishments because the Head Of Service was not available. The govt side came with all the stakeholders including their technical Committee.

“Labour side was led by Joint Negotiation Committee Acting Chairman, Comr Ilesanmi and  was supported by the NLC and TUC Chairmen and their Secretaries.

“Others are the JNC Sec, JUSUN Sec, rep Judiciary & Parliament, ASCSN Sec & one other person who represented Council I, NCSU chairman & NUPSRAW Sec also representative Council II, NUAAE Chairman & AUPCTER Sec rep council III and NANNM/MHWUN Chairmen represented Health workers.”
