Ondo federal lawmaker, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, wins re-election

The member of House of Representatives representing North East and North West Federal Constituency in Ondo state, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has been declared the winner of the February 25th House of Representatives election in the Federal Constituency.

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo Constituency has continued to enjoy overwhelming acceptance among the electorates in the Constituency as the burning desire of him is to bring more development to all the communities and improve the standard of living of the Constituency.

He contested under the platform of All Progressives Congress APC.

In the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Tunji-Ojo polls a total of 51,539 votes to defeat his closest rival in the PDP, who got 9,014 votes from the two local government of the federal constituency, Akoko North East and Akoko North West.

However, the member representing Ifedore/Idanre and Gboluga Ikengboju representing Irele/Okitipupa constituencies in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye and Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju respectively lost their seat to their opponents.

In the result released by INEC, Adefisoye scored 20,064 against his opponent in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Festus Akingbaso, who polled 24,263.

While Jimi Odimayo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 44,638 to defeat Ikengboju of the PDP who got 21,066.
