Ondo commends teachers for shunning NLC/TUC strike

Ondo State Government has commended teachers especially those in Public Primary Schools across the State for being in Schools doing their jobs despite the indefinite strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

NLC and TUC directed all affiliate unions to commence withdrawal of services with effect from 12 midnight of November 13, 2023.

Chairman of Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB), Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan gave the commendation today after getting reports from across the state.

In a statement issued by the SUBEB Director of Press, Bolu Ajijo stated that Olabimtan who was full of praises for the teachers for displaying uncommon dedication to duty and loyalty to the administration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, saying that their dedication to duty will not go unnoticed.

Olabimtan enjoined the teachers to continue to do their jobs to the best of their abilities as the government will always prioritize their welfare.

The SUBEB boss noted that not less than One Thousands Teachers from the Primary School in the state are currently being trained in the modern School Based Management to enhance an effective delivery and performance.

According to him, this training will enhance teachers and learners relationship and overall performance of pupils in both internal and external examinations.

Olabimtan said that apart from prompt payment of salaries and allowances, the government will continue to look for creative ways to encourage teachers in order to improve their job delivery and pupils performance for the overall development of the State.

He therefore called on parents to allow their wards to go to school and learn.
