President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has justified the acquisition of a new presidential jet for his boss.
The presidential spokesperson defended the purchase in a recent post, where he argued the aircraft was bought following recommendation to replace the B737-700(BBJ) after an investigative hearing by the National Assembly.
Onanuga added that legislators also questioned the aircraft’s safety record and cost efficiency, after it malfunctioned during Tinubu’s trip to Saudi Arabia.
He aslo stated that it was bought far below the market price and saved the country huge maintenance and fuel costs, running into millions of dollars yearly.
