Omotola, Dakolo, Kate Henshaw dazzle at EiE dinner

Actress, Kate Henshaw, and soulful singer, Timi Dakolo, were impressive at the Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE) fundraising dinner on Saturday, June 14, at The Duchess @ Zion Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. While Henshaw co-compered the event, Dakolo provided soul-searching music that helped loosen the purse strings of those who attended.

 

Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde,

Actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde, spoke passionately about her love for Nigeria, why she’s involved with EiE, and challenged guests to also get involved. Another singer, Omawumi, shared her remarks via video through her song ‘Enough is Enough’.

 

The fundraising dinner was the first ever for EiE, a youth-led organisation committed to a culture of good governance and public accountability.

 

Social entrepreneur, Kola Oyeneyin, was the other host at the gathering that featured a documentary of the organisation’s work over the past four years and remarks by EiE volunteers.

 

Henshaw, who was auctioneer for the evening, engaged the audience humorously as she auctioned off dinner with Aliko Dangote and one-hour sessions with Wole Soyinka, Fola Adeola, Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Mo Abudu, Ibukun Awosika, Leke Alder and Kemi Adetiba. Other items auctioned were two tickets to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a Mai Atafo wedding dress and photo shoot with Kelechi Amadi-Obi.

 

Efe Paul shared his thought-provoking poem, “Justice”, and guests were treated to excerpts of Yaw’s political satire – ‘The Street’.
