Former presidential aide and social media influencer, Reno Omokri, has praised the senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Center, Paul Enenche for apologizing to a church member he wrongly accused while giving a testimony.

TheNiche had earlier reported that a Dunamis church member, Ms Veronica Nnenna Anyim, took to the pulpit during a live Sunday service to share her achievement of graduating with a “Bachelor of Law” degree from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

In her testimony, she proclaimed herself as the first graduate in her family and detailed her journey to obtaining the degree, which she claimed was a BSc in law.

However, her testimony was abruptly interrupted by Pastor Enenche, who openly declared her testimony as false, asserting that there is no such degree as a BSc in law and questioning her credibility as a law graduate based on her speech.

Despite the pastor’s assertions, investigations later revealed that NOUN indeed offered a “Bachelor of Law” degree to her.

A day after her degree was confirmed by the institution, Nigerians trooped to various social media platforms to lambast the pastor and urged him to tender an apology to Vera.

Following the backlash, Pastor Enenche via a statement tendered an unreserved  apology for embarrassing Ms Ayim, saying his action was not meant to disparage her.

Reacting to the development, Omokri in a post on his Facebook page, commended Enenche for “being man enough to own up to his mistakes and seek reconciliation with his congregant, Miss Vera Anyim, whom he had unintentionally embarrassed in a presumptuous moment of weakness, which can happen to anyone”.

He went on to say the pastor’s choice of words in his apology to Anyim also demonstrated a Christlike character, stressing that it was a very redemptive teachable moment.

He added: “Miss Anyim is now fully vindicated as a bonafide graduate of law, and a recipient of God’s grace.

“I urge every member of Pastor Paul Enenche’s congregation, whose faith was challenged to be encouraged by this. Their pastor has, by his exemplary conduct, shown that love is stronger than pride.

“I pray that God blessed Miss Vera Anyim and Pastor Paul Enenche and give them the desires of their hearts, in Yeshua’s Name.”
