Olympic Games: Kits war begins in Team Nigeria camp

A cold war has ensued between the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the umbrella body for Sports, Ministry of Sports. The crisis is over kitting.
It was gathered that two sets of kits are being distributed. It also came to light that the NOC had its kits, while the Ministry of Sports had another set.
On Monday, the Nigerian minister of sports, John Enoh had to convey a meeting of the warring parties to quench the inferno.
A source close to the ministry informed that the NOC did not disclose to the ministry that it had a signed kitting agreement with a firm.
The source disclosed that normally, there is always a general kit, which everyone should have and there is also the competition kits which is the prerogative of each sports federation.
For instance, the NFF has Nike as its kit supplier. “There is no way you will ask the footballers to wear a different attire from that supplied by Nike.”
According to a report by Sports Village Square, the general kit is what the Team Nigeria athletes are supposed to wear when not competing
