Olympians elections: Oyedeji, Ajunwa, Chukwumerije shine

Elections into the executive of Nigeria Olympians was held in Lagos on Monday with Basketball icon Olamide Oyedeji elected as president,
Others officials that won include Taekwondo icon Chika Chukwumerije as first-vice, Sprinter, Deji Aliu, 2nd VP and Sunday Mathias 3rd vice.
Others are former Sprinter Lawrence Adegbehingbe who was voted in as the Secretary General of the association, followed by former Tennis ace, Bose Kafo as Asst Scribe.
The Atlanta’96 long jump gold medalist Chioma Ajunwa will be the treasurer of the association in the next four years.
Aminat Adeniyi (fin. sec)  Johanah  Akere (PRO) and Isah Mohammed (welfare).
 The election which took place at the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) secretariat in Lagos also had the following candidate that contested and did not win their positions.
They include Mary Onyali and Enefiok Udo-Obong. They contested for the secretary general positions and lost to Lawrence Adegbehingbe from Ondo state.
The new exco will serve for four years.
According to Adegbehingbe, ‘The new regime would attempt to revive policies capable of bringing all Olympians and indeed sports enthusiasts together as one body. Sports growth he said would be key to the numerious achievement the new exco would pursue in the next four years.
He however appeal to his colleagues across the globe to assist the new
