Olu Falae retires from politics, hands over SDP chair to Adeniran

The National Chairman of Social Democratic Party,  Chief Olu Falae has quit active politics.  


The former minister of  Finance and former Secretary to the Government of the federation who was speaking with newsmen at his Akure residence yesterday gave a number of reasons for his decision.

 
According to him, he had wanted to make the announcement earlier in September 2018 immediately after he clocked 80 years old but for the convention of the party that was approaching. 


“I could also not quit because there was litigation that the party was battling with which could not make me make such announcement at that time,” he stressed.


Falae added that the next person to him in line with the constitution is Professor Tunde Adeniran, stressing that he has handed over to him.


“I have handed over the Chairmanship position of the party to Prof. Tunde Adeniran. I have retired from the active politics”, he added.
