Former Super Eagles boss, Sunday Oliseh has opened up on what transpired between him and former Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi when he was in charge of the Nigerian team.
Oliseh was appointed Super Eagles manager by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in July 2015 and the former Ajax star stayed in the position till February 2016.
However, while speaking during a recent interview with Elegbete TV on YouTube, the former Nigerian midfielder described how Mikel treated him in the early days of his appointment.

According to him, the then Chelsea star player ignored him totally despite his efforts to bring him on board.
Narrating his experience, Oliseh said, “I sent messages to John Obi Mikel, but he never answered my call. He never called me back. He totally ignored me and played the big ego.
”I went to London with my assistant to speak with Mikel and Victor Moses. I gave them an appointment at the hotel, two teammates at the same club. Moses came to the meeting, the other one refused to come,”
Also speaking on his encounter with another ex-Nigerian international, Oliseh named Emmanuel Emenike as the best player he managed.
He, however, added that his greatest regret was the player’s decision to resign from international football.
He said, “Before I go further, the biggest regret I had with the Super Eagles was when Emenike called and said ‘I am retiring as a national team player.’
“Working with Emmanuel Emenike was the best thing I had as Super Eagles coach.
”He was a great and nice guy. He was against what the NFF had told me about him.”
