Old video showing Portable carrying placard during EndSARs protest resurfaces,  Nigerians react

A viral old video of controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable, participating in the EndSARS protest which occurred back in October 2020 has resurfaced on social media. 

Portable in the video joined celebrities, activists and other Nigerian youths on the streets of Lagos to protest against police brutality.

In the video, the singer was seen in the midst of security agents as he begged the Nigerian government to end a police unit, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). 

He went on to assert that citizens of the country want to dress well, drive good cars and generally live a good life.

The 30-year-old was also seen with a placard that read: “End SARS’, ‘End Police Brutality’, ‘Soro Were’, ‘Soro Soke.” 

After the clip resurfaced on the internet, Nigerians took to the comment section to air their views, with majority of them hailing him for speaking for voiceless Nigerians. 

A netizen identified as nuovoblezz, said, “No b today potable don’t Dey ment, him head Dey touch normally.”

Another IG user,  yo_jhay wrote, “I wish this people can see the effect of talent on portable, just in 2 years. #Dontstop.” 

Bwest_burnagram added, “If una know portable before I swear no one would ever hate him hmmmm God is great that is all.” 

Another internet user, official_ollartmb231 said, “Whoever sees this should know that he or she needs to pray for Grace and Mercies, God is so great.” 

While iamstarious wrote,  “So na portable be this that year wen this video trend, God let ur grace speak for me o.”
