Rochas Okorocha

Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha hopes to win his senatorial election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, while at the same time, juggling for his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, to become governor on a different party, Action Alliance (AA).

Nwosu and his campaign team have officially defected to the AA, although claiming that they still have allegiance for President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection, and Okorocha’s senate ambition to represent Imo West.

Also, 19 of the state’s 27-member House of Assembly, including the Speaker, have joined the AA.

Okorocha’s supporters are now chanting AA, even though some of them have APC tickets for various elective positions in the state and at the federal level.

How they hope to win the elections for APC and governorship for AA, while at the same time mobilising against Hope Uzodinma who is the APC governorship candidate of Imo, remains to be seen.

Uzodinma is Okorocha’s bitter rival after he, in league with Okorocha’s estranged deputy, Eze Madumere, cornered the structures of the APC from Okorocha, thereby paving the way for the defeat of his preferred choice for the APC governorship ticket, his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.

Two key supporters of the governor and his son inlaw confirmed to TheNiche that they are now in AA.
