Former Nigerian midfielder Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha has predicted that north London club, Arsenal, will win the 2022-23 English Premier League (EPL) title.

Okocha, however, believes that for this to happen, Mikel Arteta’s men will have to take points from the Citizens, in their 2 league encounters.

The Gunners have gathered 50 points from 20 games and are sitting five points above second-placed league champions, Manchester City with a game in hand.

Arsenal lost their last league game against struggling Everton at Goodson Park on Saturday, while Manchester City were defeated by Tottenham Hotspurs a day later, but the two teams are yet to face each other in the league this season.

Speaking to wettfreunde recently, a former Bolton Wanderers star noted that the league champions are uncharacteristically losing games this season.

Okocha also said he thinks Arsenal will win the league because they have been consistently good despite the blip against Everton.

He said: “Manchester City is surprisingly losing a lot of games this season for [their] standards.

“Arsenal are consistently good, I assume the defeat at Everton was just a slip-up recently.

“I trust Arsenal to become champions, but for that [they have] to do well in both duels against Man City.”
