Okada riders jubilate as Matthew defeats Gwani’s bid for fourth term

Motorcycle taxi (Okada) operators are jubilating in Southern Kaduna where their former colleague, Donatus Matthew, of the Labour Party (LP) defeated House of Representatives Minority Chief Whip Gideon Gwani of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Matthew received 10,508 votes against 10,297 won by Gwani, a four-term lawmaker representing Kaura Federal Constituency.
Mathew thanked the electorate for the confidence reposed in him to represent them and solicited for their support and cooperation.
He also promised to carry everyone along to achieve success.
Mathew, according to sources, was once a Councillor and commercial motorcyclist, per reporting by Vanguard.

In Lagos, LP federal candidate beats PDP candidate
Down South in Lagos, LP House of Representatives candidate for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, Thaddeus Attah, garnered 24,075 votes to defeat PDP candidate Olubankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, who received 18,666.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer Funmilayo Odukoya announced the result at the collation centre at the Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1.
“Thaddeus Attah of LP, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared winner and is returned elected; signed by me. Thank you so much,” she declared.
Oladehin Olufemi of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) received 1,422 votes; Azeez Kabirat (New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP) 414 votes; Olasunkanmi Ololade, and (Social Democratic Party, SDP) 207 votes.
