Former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, on Tuesday reported at the Department of State Services (DSS) in Owerri barely 24 hours after his convoy was attacked.
Ohakim is believed to have briefed the DSS on the attack which claimed the lives of four policemen, reports The Nation.
Last year, the one-term governor was involved in a case of alleged fraud and blackmail.
Ohakim, on Monday evening, escaped death by the whiskers when gunmen attacked his convoy in Mbano where he hails from.
His convoy was attacked at Oriagu in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state.
At the time of the incident, Ohakim was with two of his children and was returning from a visit.

A source, who witnessed the attack, told TheNiche that it took the dexterity of Ohakim’s driver at the wheels for him to escape.
“The fact that Ohakim is still alive today is a miracle. It is by the sheer grace of God and the presence of mind of his driver.
“Otherwise, he would have been a dead man by now,” the source, who pleaded anonymity, said.
In frustration and disappointed that their main target had escaped, the source said, “They blocked his backup vehicle and burnt it. The four policemen with him burnt.”
