Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard has revealed missing out on the 2022/23 Premier League title to Manchester City was a bitter pill to swallow.
Odegaard made this known recently while talking to The Mirror ahead of Norway’s Group A UEFA EURO qualifiers on Saturday against Scotland.
North London club, Arsenal, were on the way to earning their first league title since 2004 and were eight points clear of their closest rivals, Manchester City as of January.
However, the Gunners faltered during the business end of the campaign as they were leapfrogged by the Citizens, ending the season five points short of Pep Guardiola’s men who went on to win a treble.

Speaking about missing out on the league trophy to the eventual champions, Odegaard expressed regret about the inability of his team to get over the finishing line.
He went on to say as much as he tries to put the saga behind him, the painful thought kept coming back.
He said: “I have tried not to see so much of that stuff there because it still stings.
“I try not to think too much about it. Even though we delivered a very good season for a long time, I am left with a sour feeling.”
