Against All Odds celebrates Orara

To celebrate Adaora-Zinno Orara, who is down with cancer, Black House Media and Mydrim Gallery are collaborating in the art exhibition titled ‘Against All Odds’.

A statement from Black House Media said the exhibition will be showcasing the works of one of Nigeria’s most celebrated painters, Zinno Orara, in dedication to his wife, Adaora-Zinno Orara, who is battling breast cancer.

“Being a proud owner of some Zinno Orara’s paintings, I can say that his works are truly one of a kind, with the deep messaging and detailed finishing. It is impossible for a shallow thinker to make deep impressions that are awe-inspiring like these works,” said Ayeni Adekunle Samuel, CEO Black House Media, about the artist and his paintings.

The showcase will take place from December 5 to 12 at Mydrim Gallery, 74B Norman Williams St. South West Ikoyi, Lagos and promises to be one of the classiest the country has ever seen, the organisers said.

Born in 1965 in Benin City, Orara attended Government College, Ughelli, and The school of Arts and Design, Auchi. He graduated in 1988 with a distinction in painting and illustration. He also holds a master’s degree in philosophy.

With over 12 solo exhibitions and 25 group exhibitions in Nigeria, South Africa, Sweden, Spain, United States and Canada, Orara’s paintings are present in art galleries all over the world, as well as with some of the world’s most dedicated collectors.

“This exhibition is more than just an art showcase; it is in honour of Mrs. Adaora-Zinno Orara – the most beautiful woman in the world – and every other person out there who is fighting the uphill battle against cancer, against all odds,” added Ayeni Adekunle Samuel.
