Rinu Oduala, a frontline supporter of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is now the punchbag of the Obidients. She is trending at number one on Nigerian Twitter space.
Her sin is requiring from the ex-Anambra Governor via a tweet what he would do to address police brutality. Her query hinged on the allegation that police brutality was commonplace in Anambra under Obi’s watch as Anambra Governor.
Tweeting with her verified handle, @SavvyRinu, she said: “How does Mr Peter Obi intend to tackle police brutality?”
She added: “…Incidences of police brutality during his tenure as a governor are not fictitious stories. We don’t need abstract tweets by handlers to be dug up years later. We need thorough commitment and explanations.”
Another pro Obi, Aisha Yesufu, also got on the knuckle of the Obidients after backing Rinu Oduala. She said via her Twitter handle @AishaYesufu: “@PeterObi MUST provide the answer on how he is going to tackle police brutality. No ifs or buts about it!”
The Obidients, mainly young Nigerians, came after the two women, even after they restated that they are still voting the LP presidential candidate.
@PromiseSlim fires: ” Peter Obi has answered that question. This whole thing seem premeditated by you (Aisha Yesufu) and Rinu. Because it’s democracy doesn’t mean you should issue commands to someone. Be decent and modest in your postulations.”
@majesty_md said: “Please rest Rinu, you’re beginning to say rubbish… PO has made himself accountable more than any other candidate… most of you don’t even know the meaning of accountability…if e dey pain u say u no see ur name 4 campaign list, e no concern PO… deal with ur issues.”
@let001 said: “I think Rinu wants Obi to answer her directly so she can feel powerful because I don’t understand what else she wants. Rinu do you want him to swear under an oracle before you are satisfied? I guess she will decamp soon if her demands are not meant…just like Deji and the rest.”
@Usman_Suleyy said: “Rinu is using Obi for clout chasing. She thinks she’s doing Peter a favour by supporting him. If Obi is not elected, he will still be Nigeria foremost billionaire. It’s you that the bad governance will affect.”
@DukeDarls said: “Saw Rinu & Aisha yesufu’s tweet about Peter Obi today & I knew they both were lobbying to be in the Labour Party campaign list But unfortunately they weren’t included. Know that everybody is important but nobody is irreplaceable.”
