Obi tells supporters, vote for Character, Competence, and Compassion

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has reiterated  the judiciary is the best institution for the delivery of justice worldwide, therefore, he has confidence in the Nigerian judiciary to do so in his lawsuit on the presidential election.

He said the judiciary has served justice in all matters he has taken to court, and, in the current case, members of the judiciary are fellow Nigerians who would not want to collapse the country, especially as their children are part of the younger generation.

“I stayed in court for three years when people said it was impossible to recover my [Anambra governorship] mandate through the court and I became the first,” Obi recounted.

“I was impeached and I went to court, they said it was impossible because somebody else has been elected and sworn in as Governor, but I changed it.

“I have been to court, several of them, I do not have any cause to doubt the court. Why do I say this? I believe Nigeria has one of the best judiciaries globally.”

Politicians are the problem

“It is we, the politicians, that are trying to scuttle it because of our transactional nature of trying to ensure that everywhere is corrupted,” Obi said Channels Television, per reporting by Tribune.

“Globally, they are asking what happened to the Nigerian election. Africans are surprised that the giant of Africa can no longer deliver on its election. We are not talking about something great, just the election.

“So what is wrong with us?

“I do not go anywhere referring to how the other people were treated. Despite their recent controversial judgements, I am confident they do not want the country to collapse.

“They do not want the country to collapse on their children!”

Obi urged his followers, called Obidients, not to vote blindly in the governorship election across the country.

Obidients should vote for Character, Competence, and Compassion, he stressed, even as the LP does not have governorship candidates in all the 36 states.

In states where the LP has candidates, he counselled Obidients to troop out to polling units and vote massively for the party’s candidates.

Obi insisted he received huge votes from Lagos indigenes, apart from settlers, which means they can also vote for LP governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who has the capacity and competence to run the affairs of the state.
