Anambra State former governor, Mr. Peter Obi, has lamented the underdevelopment of Nigeria as it marksed its 58th independence on Monday, October 1, 2018.
In his Independence message, the former governor, who set high standards in governance in Anambra State, said that Nigeria was not truly independent politically and socially with its present high level of poverty.
According to him, there was nothing to celebrate at 58 except poverty and hardship.
While advising Nigerians and the government to reflect on a way forward, Obi said that it was sad for Nigeria to continue to lag behind in all indices of development.
Besides, he called on Nigerians to think possitively on how to boost development and set the country on its feet again.
