The Anambra State former governor, Mr Peter Obi, has congratulated the Founder of United Nigeria Airlines, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, as the airline launched its operations.

United Nigeria Airlines had, on February 12, 2021, made its inaugural flight from the domestic wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos to Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

Speaking through his media office, Obi described Okonkwo as a good entrepreneur, who, through the United Nigeria Airlines, would make positive contributions to Nigeria’s economy by way of jobs creation, transportation services and other corporate social responsibilities.

Obi however called on Okonkwo and the management of the airline to always maintain good standard of service to the people, while prioritizing the safety of human lives in their operations.

He also urged the government and other Nigerians to support entrepreneurs who are investing into the economy.

He advised Nigerians to pursue entrepreneurship, saying, “A booming private sector in any nation is an indication that the economy is doing well.”
