The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, defeated the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election held at polling unit 017, Agụ Awka Ward located in the Government House.
Peter Obi scored 61 votes to defeat the APGA presidential candidate, who scored zero votes.
The polling unit is populated with civil servants, government functionaries and others.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo was said to have directed the civil servants to vote for APGA during a retreat in December 2022.
In a similar streak, Obi also floored the presidential of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tse-Orvihi Polling Unit, Uvir Council Ward, Guma LGA of Benue State.
In the presidential election, the LP polled 133, PDP – 1 and APC – 36.
