Obi alerts APC, govt agencies pressuring him not to reclaim his ‘stolen’ mandate

Peter Obi, Labour Party (LP) candidate who is challenging the result of the presidential election in court, has alerted Nigerians the All Progressives Congress (APC) and state agencies are putting him under pressure to leave the country.
Obi flayed the APC and government agencies of waging a propaganda war against him to force him to abandon his tribunal case aimed at recovering his “stolen” election mandate.
He also insisted the viral audio of him and Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners’ Chapel is fake.
“The present attempts by the APC as a party, and the APC led-government through some government officials and agencies to divert our attention from our blatantly stolen mandate is unfortunate and sad,” Ob reiterated in a statement, per Daily Post.
“These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.
“Let me reiterate that the audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war.”

LP alleges state agencies out to discredit Obi, deligitimise his claim
Obi’s alarm was corroborated by the LP, saying immense pressure is being mounted directly on him to leave Nigeria because of his objection to the result of the presidential election held on February 25, per reporting by Daily Post.
LP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) spokesman Yunusa Tanko alleged the APC has hatched a “well calculated, deliberate and orchestrated campaign to discredit and delegitimise Obi in order to compel him to abandon his right to seek redress in court.”
He disclosed in a statement Obi has been contacted in the past few weeks by associates, elder statesmen, family, and friends over concerns for his personal safety.
Tanko alleged state institutions have become part of a “well calculated, deliberate and orchestrated campaign of calumny” against Obi, but insisted the candidate has no intention of leaving the country despite the pressure on him and his family.
“These concerns have increased intensely in the last few days as immense pressure has been mounted directly on Mr. Obi to leave the country, no doubt, from sources allied to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its agents in the security services,” Tanko said.
“Mr Obi has been repeatedly and categorically told that he has a choice to leave Nigeria or face the prospect of being arrested on false charges of inciting insurrection in the country.
“It is difficult to fathom and regrettably unfortunate that state institutions have become part of a well calculated, deliberate and orchestrated campaign of calumny by the APC to discredit and delegitimise Mr Peter Obi and compel him to abandon his right to seek redress in court following the outcome of the last election which was adjudged both locally and internationally to have failed to meet any standard of credibility or fairness.”
