Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, Peter Obi, on Friday attended the funeral of the parents of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Also at the funeral mass held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Afaraukwu, Abia were Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senate Minority Leader, and Victor Umeh, former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Traditional rulers from across the Southsouth and Southeast regions were in attendance to pay their last respect to the monarch, Israel Kanu and his wife, Ugoeze Sally.
They include monarchs from Opobo, Nembe and Ogoni in Rivers State; Ijaw, Isoko and Kwale in Delta state.
Others were top traditional rulers from Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.
