In the event of disagreements, women should not wait for apologies from their husbands, Aduke Obasanjo, the wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has said. Rather, they should initiate the peace process to keep their family together.

According to the Punch Newspaper, Obasanjo’s wife spoke on Sunday, November 21 at the 41st Adult Harvest Celebration of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos State.

According to the wife of the former president, it is wrong for women to expect their husbands to apologise even when the men are at fault.

The event was themed, ‘Harvest of Abundant Blessings.’

Obasanjo’s wife advised women to keep their homes, and not involve third parties in their marriages.

She said it is an honour for women to bear the prefix ‘Mrs,’ she urged those paying the bills in their families not to disrespect their husbands.

Obasanjo’s wife said: “Women who shoulder the responsibilities of their husbands are only lucky to be blessed by God; it’s never enough for them to disrespect their husbands.

“Instead of expecting a man to say sorry, women should learn how to lead their husbands to the bedroom and touch them romantically. Whatever you do in the house will have an impact on the children and those children are the seed that will give us rest of mind. The rest of the mind you give your husband is important.”

According to the report published by Punch,  Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Regional Integration, Mr Bola Ilori, who urged Nigerians to pray for the country as the general elections approach.

He said: “If not for prayers, Nigeria would have been worse than its current state. The importance of prayers cannot be overemphasised.

“Peace is the reason we can gather today and prayer is important for peace. We must continue to pray for our country, especially as elections approach.”
