The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko in Ondo State, Dr. Tunji Abayomi has said that despite former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s support for the Labout Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi in the last election, he never said he would shutdown Nigeria if Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is sworn in on May 29
Abayomi in a statement in Akure, the Ondo State Capital said neither did President Obasanjo said that he is against the Inauguration, government or rule of the coming elected President.
“It is true that President Obasanjo supported Peter Obi before election as it was his constitutional right just as many of us who are his allies and friends clearly disagreed and supported Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a much better candidate.”
According to the Constitutional lawyer, now that election is over, President Obasanjo’s commitment to a greater Nigerian Nation stands firm.
“He (Obasanjo) will not undermine directly or indirectly the national government that God gave him the privilege to head at various times. Please take this from me,” Abayomi added
