A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Obafemi Oladapo Foundation, has given out cash to the indigents in Okeagbe Akoko in Akoko North West local government area of Ondo state.
The Chairman and Founder of the Organization, Mr Obafemi Oladapo while addressing the people at Okeagbe Akoko stated that his intention was to pay more attention to the plight of the poor and vulnerable so as to reduce poverty in the area.
According to him, “what I am doing is poverty reduction which has become a major objective of my Foundation since its inception. Let me say that my major aims and objective is to empower the elderly, widows and the less privileged in this constituency.
“I discovered that my people are really suffering. This is my little way to assist and empower them to become self-reliant and participate in economic activities that will boost the local market”, he said.
Oladapo however urged beneficiaries to manage whatever they are able to get, stressing that there are many others seeking the same assistance but that they too would be attended to in no distance time.
He, therefore, promised that the gesture would be extended to other communities in the area.
