The Oyo state chapter of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has expressed shock over the viral video of a female ex-corps member, Towobola, who was humiliated by security operatives in the state.

In the viral video, the security operatives were seen brutally questioning her while in handcuff because she was found at the resident of a suspected armed robber and kidnapper in Ibadan, a man she claimed to have only met that day.

The NYSC Oyo state coordinator, Grace Ogbuogebe, said she was distressed by the barbaric treatment meted to the lady who gave her name as Towobola.

“It was quite unfortunate for her, a victim of circumstances, to be turned to an object of ridicule despite the fact that she was not found in any crime scene, neither was anything incriminating discovered on her,” the NYSC coordinator said.

The NYSC coordinator said the policemen were crude for recording their tortorous questioning of the Towobola’s private life.

She asked the Oyo State Police Command to rid itself of such unprofessional cops.

Earlier, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, said the action of the policemen was debase and unprofessional. He also asked the Oyo State police command to round up the ‘uncivilised’ policemen for demeaning Towobola in that manner.
