NUJ Media Games 2015 Emulate Med-View Airlines, Agbesanwa charges corporate bodies

Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Ayodele Agbesanwa, has charged corporate bodies in the state to emulate the good gesture of Med-View Airlines in area of sports development.

Agbesanwa, who represented Governor Akinwunmi Amode of Lagos State at the closing ceremony of the year’s Med-View/NUJ Media Games held at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, said with corporate bodies in sports sponsorship like Med-View Airlines, more hidden talents would be discovered.

 

While commending Med-View Airlines for being the official sponsor of the NUJ Media Games, a sporting events of the Lagos State Council of the NUJ, Agbesanwa promised that next year’s edition of the Games would be held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

 

He said: “Teslim Balogun Stadium belongs to the Lagos State Government and we must identify with the Lagos State Council of the NUJ. I want to say that all things being equal, next year’s edition will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium”.

 

Chairman of Lagos State Council of the NUJ, ‘Deji Elumoye, expressed appreciation to the Lagos State government through the DG of the Sports Commission as well as the official sponsors of the Games, Med-View Airlines and other partners of the Games for the successful hosting of this year’s edition, which was the 10th in the series.

 

Meanwhile, Lagos Information emerged as the overall winners of this year’s games with a total of five gold, two silver and one bronze medal while Voice of Nigeria (VON) came second with three gold, two silver and three bronze medals beating Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to the third position with two gold, seven silver and two bronze medals.

 

Highlights of the closing ceremony was the Tug-of-War final pull between Lagos Television (LTV) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) which the former won by 3-0 to win the gold medal.

 

In the football final match, Lagos Information players used their wealth of experience to subdue Complete Sports by winning 1-0 to cart home the giant trophy and the gold medal while earlier in the day, Daar Communications had defeated hard fighting SportsDay Newspapers 1-0 to win the bronze medal.

 

It would be recalled that a total of 22 media houses in Lagos State participated in this year’s edition of the Media Games proudly sponsored by Med-View Airlines with support from Lafarage.
